Elementary School Programs
Our elementary school programs support our young students with academic tutoring, mentorship, enrichment programming, family engagement and an introduction to community service. We inspire a love of learning through creative and fun learning experiences in our after-school program. We support academic achievement through support in literacy, math and science in a positive and playful learning environment that sparks curiosity, supports the development of social and life skills, and provides enrichment throughout the year, including community service projects with our students and families.
Literacy & Math Skills
Literacy and math skills are explored and developed through reading and writing groups, storytelling, games, as well as homework assistance for our students at higher grade levels. Our approach to literacy and math aligns with best practices both locally and nationally and supports the great work going on in our schools, every day.
Social Skills Development
Every activity we engage in is designed and delivered through a lens that supports healthy child development. Students are engaged every day in opportunities to develop and practice social skills, empathy, kindness, self-regulation and what it means to be part of a community, through cooperative play and collaborative project work.
Life Skills
Our young students learn practical life skills daily such as keeping track of belongings, good decision making, time management, keeping their spaces tidy and taking care of themselves and each other.
Enrichment
Students engage in outdoor education, go on field trips to museums, musical events, and other enrichment opportunities through partnerships with other organizations and community members.
Service
We believe in cultivating the values of “giving back” to our community from a very early age. Our youngest students learn to cooperate with one another, working together to clean up and help one another with daily tasks. Each year, every student will take on additional community service projects that are age appropriate and fun in order to develop a sense of responsibility for others and understand the value of becoming global citizens. Projects can include trail clean up, serving meals to senior citizens and others, participating in “Earth Day” and service at community celebrations.
